Treasury & Investment Accountant

Our client has been a top company in Philadelphia for over 70 years. They are looking for an Investment Accountant with hedge fund experience for an exciting new position which reports directly to the Corporate Controller. 

 

The company is a global professional services firm that helps organizations improve their performance through effective people, risk, and financial management.  The firm provides innovative solutions in the areas of human capital strategy; program design and management; risk and capital management; reinsurance intermediary services; and actuarial consulting.

 

The role of the Treasury and Investment Accountant will be to establish world-wide processes and procedures to accurately account for cash transactions in a timely manner.  In addition this role will develop and automate the accounting rules in the Treasury cash management system. This is a newly created position. 

 

ResponsibilitiesComplete the monthly sub-ledger closing process as it relates to the Treasury cash management system interface to the general ledger, ensuring prescribed deadlines are metProvide data for monthly journal entries relating to cash management activity, including accounting for short-term investments, FX purchases, and derivative products in compliance with all applicable GAAP standardsAssist with preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly Treasury Operations reports as requested by managementEstablish and implement processes and procedures to accurately accountant tax investments, including equity investmentsPrepare/maintain FAS 133 or other pertinent literature compliant hedge accounting qualitative documentation and quantitative assessmentPrepare all treasury and investment related disclosures for the inclusion in the firm’s financial statementsPrepare debt calculations, as well as forecasting of projected covenant ratios, as requiredReview bank reconciliations and inter-co loan reconciliations

 

RequirementsFive to seven years of experience in treasury or finance; preferably in a large, multinational companyBachelor’s degree requiredExposure to cash management productsProficient user of Excel, Access, and OracleExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong organizational skills
