Sustaining Software Engineer
Job Description:
Our Java Sustaining Software Engineers work on back-end and front-end applications for all aspects of payment processing in the ever expanding field of e-commerce. The growing list of payment methods processed by the e-commerce industry currently includes credit cards, electronic checks, Bill Me Later, PayPal, and Google Checkout. Responsibilities:
· Covering night-time pager duties (eight nights a month)
· Maintenance of the code base
· Bug fixes and release patches
· Custom feature/functionality enhancements
· Researching and debugging customer issues
· Performing unit level and integration level testing of software components and systems
· Gaining domain expertise in all aspects of e-commerce payment processing.
Requirements:
· BS-CS or related field
· 2+ years professional Java programming experience
· Java development expertise in a Windows or Linux/Unix environment
· JDBC / SQL experience; ability to create complex, efficient queries
· Linux/Unix command line experience
· Practical problem analysis and solving skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Committed to exacting quality standards and detail-oriented
· Extensive unit and integration test experience
· J2EE development experience; RMI, EJB, JSP, XML is a plus
· Experience with commercial app server, e.g. WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere is a plus
· Transaction processing experience a plus
· Having worked successfully in a close team environment
