Sr. Oracle Developer

By joining our technology team as an Oracle Developer, you will be exposed to a cutting-edge, distributed Oracle 10g/Linux environment that supports business activities such as Fixed Income Trading, Institutional Brokerage Trading & Operations, Electronic/Strategic Options Trading and firm-wide Compliance & Operations with high throughput OLTP systems, analytic processing, reporting and enterprise reference data systems. Our environment employs Oracle Technologies such as Streams AQ, Discoverer BI, HTML DB and Oracle Warehouse Builder, as well as Service oriented architecture using Microsoft's .NET middleware. In this role, you will participate in all phases of development from initial requirements gathering through implementation, develop reports, as well as support custom ad-hoc requests from end-users.Through frequent interaction with database administrators, systems administrators, application developers, traders, business unit department heads and senior management, you will have the opportunity to learn every facet of our business and provide innovative solutions to complex technical projects. Essential Functions Designs, develops and supports Oracle database solutions Full Life Cycle developmentDevelops reports and supports custom ad-hoc requests from end-users Interacts with database administrators, systems administrators, application developers, traders, business unit heads and senior management. Required/Preferred Qualifications A minimum of (7) seven years of recent hands-on Oracle Database development experience A thorough understanding of Oracle relational databases Strong Oracle SQL, PL/SQL & Tuning skills a must A thorough understanding of Logical and Physical modeling concepts Experience with shell script programming Database Administration and/or Data warehouses experience a plus An understanding of Object Oriented development a plus Financial services or industry knowledge a plus Excellent technical, communication, organizational and negotiation skills Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure Must enjoy working in a fast-paced teamwork environmentBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience* Apply Salary/Benefits At SIG, our employees are our most valued assets.
