The associate is responsible for monitoring and maintaining core network hardware and connectivity. Strong knowledge of Network Security (intrusion detection, etc.) is required.Responsibilities: - Primary responsibility for creation of network planning, network architecture design and engineering. - Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. - Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution.  - Develops and documents technical standards and interface applications. - Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement.  - Under minimal supervision, assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity. - Responsible for the administration and documentation of all network components and assets. - Procurement and configuration of network components. Duties: - Interpret requirements, provide engineering solutions, and develop specifications to implement new network engineering project needs. - Responsible for core design strategies, along with monitoring and adjusting network topology requiring extensive knowledge of Network Monitoring and Management tools.  - Responsible for overall strategic direction of LAN/WAN network. - Provide installation and maintenance of core network components and cabling to continue to meet recommended standards. - Responsibilities include the purchasing of network hardware and cabling for the best available cost, as long as corporate standards are met. - Maintain all aspects of the ADS firewall routing and switching, Frame relay and VPN connectivity with Client base. - Provide input to peers, management and customers for recommendations, alternate solutions and/or improvements. Conveys and ensure the understanding of technical strategies and vision by project participants. Schedules and conducts technical meetings and reviews. - Provide technical leadership to other administrators. Serve as a resource and provide on the job training and advice on tasks to be accomplished by less knowledgeable or newer associates. - Prepare time estimate for all phases of technical projects. Develop and maintain project plans for all large and medium projects. - Document installation and upgrade procedures in area of specialization. In addition, document and enforce all TransUnion Operating System standards.  - Lead multi-party projects spanning several months Requirements: - B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science strongly preferred. - 5 to 7 years of experience in the data communications field is required. - Strong knowledge of Network Security (intrusion detection, etc.) is required. - CCNP and CCDP or CCIE credentials highly preferred. - Solid understanding of Data communication protocols focusing on TCP/IP.  - Working experience with Cisco routers and switches in a corporate infrastructure. - Experience designing and supporting highly redundant networks using HSRP and multiple layers of redundancy.  - Extensive experience with multiple routing protocols, EIGRP, BGP, iBGP, OSPF. - Knowledge of network security practices and tools.  - Prior experience with network monitoring tools.
