We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Sr. Manager – Dividends within our Position Services Team.Position Description: Position Services group in Baltimore is responsible for managing the timely and accurate processing of Dividends and Proxy Voting for both internal and external clients of the firm. The group also incorporates our Corporate Action Announcement Validation service. Position Services faces off to a large number of business units across the firm and excellent client service is required to meet the challenging demands of our key clients. Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage is the number one Prime Broker globally and it is the quality of service from the group that assists the business in maintaining that position.Dividends GroupThe Dividends group is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all US, Canadian and Latin American dividends. The group is split into a number of smaller teams to focus on specific markets or processes.Responsibilities:The successful candidate’s key deliverables will include:? Ensuring Dividends are paid on time, accurately – and that any issues are quickly resolved? Ensuring appropriate on-the-job training of all team members takes place? Providing the team with direction, setting goals and providing written and verbal feedback in performance evaluations. Able to develop people into managers.? Continually seeks out opportunity to improve morale in department. ? Continue to develop an innovative and forward thinking group.? Seeks out opportunities to highlights key achievements for the group.? Creates a succession plan? Creates strategy for management and oversight of group and annual targets.? Management of outstanding reconciliation breaks - ensuring timely clearance. Setting and monitoring targets for clearance.? Understanding risk implications of the dividends process. Provides support to Team Leader/Managers and will escalate issues to client/BU areas in a timely manner? Ensures guardianship whilst providing high quality client service.? Responsible for ensuring all regulatory and risk frameworks are met.? Drives forward implementation and management of new systems and/or process enhancements.? Increases the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and people in their area and division.? Identifies key issues and spots trends through the analysis of information gathered.? Works with colleagues to ensure consistent processes are being used across teams.Skills Required:Skills / Experience Required: ? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance or related field. ? Five years industry experience & product knowledge (Dividends). ? The candidate will need to use professional judgement in evaluating, reporting and escalating issues. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as work in a team environment in relation to current initiatives.? This role will require strong organisational skills, as there is a requirement to prioritise and co-ordinate deadlines, and give the relevant focus to resolving immediate issues as they arise. Experience of dividend processes advantageous.? Strong communication skills will be required as well as being a team player. A willingness to share knowledge and experience is also imperative.? As this role will consist of line management responsibility, the candidate will be expected to work have a proven track record in people management.?
