Sr. Financial Analyst

The Edward Jones Sourcing Office leads the firm's sourcing initiatives in partnership with all divisions across the organization in an effort to identify business needs, review possible solutions, determine the financial impact of those solutions, select potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and assist in the evaluation of supplier performance against business objectives. The Analysis Team within the Sourcing Office has two primary functions: 1. To ensure the financial implications of these initiatives are understood by the business area and firm management and 2. To provide meaningful and actionable analysis in an effort to assist the business area with decision making related to managing their 3rd party relationships. This Sr. Financial Analyst position will be a member of the Performance Reporting team focused on proactively working with business areas throughout Edward Jones to identify and perform value-added analysis of 3rd party relationships. In meeting this business need, Sr. Financial Analysts must perform financial and business process analysis in order to assess internal controls, evaluate supplier performance against stated objectives, and identify opportunities for future negotiationsResponsibilities Building relationships with key stakeholders throughout the firm. Developing a broad understanding of the related business area (i.e. the area's function, processes, controls, objectives, and how it inter-relates with other areas of the firm) and related contractual relationships. Completing industry, financial, and market research. Identifying key cost and performance drivers. Developing meaningful measures and underlying analysis to evaluate supplier performance. Working in partnership with the business area to recommend and implement changes needed to improve supplier performance Developing business cases to document business requirements, identify potential solutions, and quantify the financial impact of those solutions.Requirements Strong interpersonal skills Detailed financial analysis/modeling experience Working knowledge of internal controls Ability to perform industry, financial and market research Strong critical thinking and decision making skills Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions using analysis performed Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize workload Understanding of financial statements 4 to 6 years of professional work experience MBA and/or CPA desired but not required Prior internal or external audit experience a plusSubmit an online resume for prompt consideration for this opportunity.
