Sr. Engineer, Data Engineering

MasterCard Worldwide Major Accountabilities:Perform basic database functions and fundamental data modeling tasks. Install and manage development and production databases in current standard environments. Perform problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning and configuration management. Identify entities, attributes and referential relationships for data models using Information Engineering approach. Assure system stability and future compatibility by monitoring production execution of all relevant systems. Create logical and physical data models. Create tables, indexes, and constants. Assist programmers with SQL DML. Generate DCL and DDL as necessary. Produce and manage all appropriate data modeling according to standards. Perform all backup and recovery. Implement and support high availability systems. Experience Required:Advance knowledge of Oracle internals.Advance knowledge of Oracle physical database tuning.Advance knowledge of SQL tuning background.Advance knowledge of replication implementation (streams/dataguard)Working knowledge of backup/recovery using RMANWorking PL/SQL coding background.Advance implementation knowledge of partitioning.Advance knowledge of Oracle RAC, Cluster Resource software and Oracle 10g new featuresGood verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask. Be able to work with team members located in multiple geographies and timezones.
