Sr. Business Objects Developer: Washington, D.C.

Sr. Business Objects Developer Washington, D.C.Preferred Systems Solutions, Inc. (PSS) is currently seeking a talented Developer who will be required to administer and support the Business Objects development, test and production environments running Business Objects version XI and 6.5. The Senior Developer will work collaboratively with management and business units to create and design reporting solutions and dashboards to support the current needs of the Enterprise Technology group as well as any needs that arise in the future.Build, maintain and enhance complex Business Objects XI and BO 6.5 Reports and Universes for the Enterprise Data (RDW, FDW and FMIS) environments. * Support the development, test and production environments for Business Objects. This includes setting up folder and objects, enabling and configuring LDAP security, migration of objects through all environments and troubleshooting user and performance problems in all environments.* Develop executive level dashboards using Business Objects Enterprise, Performance Manager and Dashboard Manager. Work with end user to prototype and refine optimal designs for dashboards.* Consult on the development of tactical systems plans and directions to assure the integration of various systems using widely varied technologies.* Provide estimates and/or alternatives to Project Managers related to business and technology impact of designs put forth.* Provide advice for the uses of specified data technology based upon experience in the Business Intelligence and reporting area.* Assist with the management of data and reporting across life-cycle, legacy systems, transactional systems to warehousing and data marts.* Define implementation strategies, processes and procedures required to migrate objects through lower environments and into the production environment.* Support projects charged with the requirements for, and evaluation of Business Intelligence applications and tools. Qualifications:* Six years or more of progressively responsible work experience including planning and managing projects and delegating tasks, preferably in the Financial Services industries, e.g., mortgage, banking, insurance.* Required: 3-5 years of advanced knowledge of Business Objects reporting and Universe Design and Dashboard Manager.* Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, training and the ability to collaborate within a cross functional team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential to the position.
