Service Specialist - Accounts and Transfer Service
If you enjoy helping others and believe it is important to consistently provide top-notch service, you may be interested in a position as a Service Specialist in Branch Services, the largest department in the Service Division of Edward Jones. You will be responsible for answering incoming calls from branch associates. These calls cover a variety of topics, including researching questions about client accounts, identifying documentation needed to process account transactions, and assisting callers with operational changes. The ideal candidate must be comfortable serving as a phone service representative and spending a great deal of time answering phone calls. If you have customer- service experience and are ready for an exciting career in the financial field, this may be a great opportunity for you.Responsibilities Answer by phone general operational and customer account questions from branch associates Work independently with branch associates to solve problems Work with branch associates to satisfy client needs Work in partnership with team members to provide support as needed Provide branch associates with information, friendly support and reliable solutions Respond to branch associates while meeting call- quality and quantity expectations. Communicate operational procedures and processes to branch associates Understand industry laws and regulations Participate in monthly department meetings and periodic training sessionsRequirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Ability to make appropriate and timely decisions Ability to understand and identify risk Ability to learn and apply technical information Desire to work in a dynamic team environment A strong service background and a desire to hold a customer-service position Ability to accept and adjust to change Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong computer skills A strong work ethic and desire to work and excel in the financial industry A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Series 7 and 63 licenses are not required but are a plus. The candidate must successfully complete a five- month training program that teaches operational and technical processes that deal with the securities industry stocks, bonds, mutual funds, estates, cash processing, security processing and client accounts. The training is a structured, formal academic training program and includes classroom training and skill-application training. Successful completion of the program includes passing a series of tests and successful on-the-job application.
