JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Visual Designer and prototyper on our User Experience Team, you will play a key role in delivering on our brand promises by contributing to effective and efficient user experiences for our digital customers. This position is in our Boston development center. You will work in a highly-collaborative environment interacting with engineering, product management, marketing, and our tax professionals. You will provide creative and world-class design solutions for our existing products leveraging the capabilities of new technologies as well as stretching our boundaries by exploring concepts for new offerings. We expect our UX Team to provide thought leadership for the business by driving us toward solutions that meet our customers' needs and exceed their expectations. We are looking for someone with drop-dead visual design skills couple with the ability to express user experience concepts in prototypes.





 

JOB DUTIESCreate and articulate a design vision and define the visual language for page layout, color palettes, typography, user interface graphical elements, forms and 'widgets'. Leverage new internet technologies to create design solutions that will help us deliver on our brand promises Communicate conceptual designs through a variety of prototyping media ranging from low-fidelity paper mockups to rich, interactive prototypes using flash and markup languages. Deliver design solutions to resolve customer pain points in our existing offerings and explore conceptual designs for future offerings Supervise and contribute to the adoption and improvement of our design guidelines and their consistent deployment across our products Coordinate visual design projects and direct the work of supporting vendors Evangelize a focus on the user experience and high quality design as an avenue to our business goals.



JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelors or Master's degree in Graphics Design, Industrial Design, Communication Arts, Fine Art or related field Possess a minimum of 5 years experience successfully creating visual designs for consumer applications. Demonstrate an excellent understanding of best practices for user experience design for consumer applications on the Web and desktop Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems and to convey these designs in the form of comps and design specifications Demonstrate expert skills with common design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Director, and Dreamweaver. Demonstrate expert skills with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, DHTML, XML, and Flash
