We are looking for a highly skilled, senior level Database Administrator (DBA) who possess the necessary SQL and Sybase Database Administration experience, self-motivation, and technical knowledge to quickly acclimate, contribute, and excel in our dynamic IT environment. 

 

The Database Administration group at FOLIOfn performs all DBA tasks across all environments:  24-hour production DBMS systems support; writing, modifying, and tuning SQL code and stored procedures; SQL programming for development of our next generation systems; Troubleshoot, SQL changes, index need detection to enhance performance; date modeling; Write scripts (SQL, shell, Sybperl) for numerous tasks such as performance and tuning, report generation, metrics gathering, load/stress testing.

 

 The DBA group works closely with UNIX System Administrators who willingly share their knowledge (and workload) providing the DBA the opportunity to enhance his or hers UNIX skills and knowledge.

 

Requirements:

· 10 plus years of experience and growth as a Sybase DBA.

· In depth understanding and skill-set of Transact-SQL code, particularly stored procedures.

· Highly knowledgeable and skilled at computer operations in a complex, UNIX based, multi-tiered environment.

· UNIX scripting in one, ideally all, of the following: shell, perl, sybperl.

· The ability to work in a fast paced, frequently changing environment; go from theory to implementation, sometimes on your own; be self motivated, make the right decisions, do no harm, and have fun because it’s what you enjoy.
