Senior Policy Advisor & Trainer

The Senior Policy Advisor & Trainer is primarily responsible for serving as a resource on Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) policy by providing research, analysis, and interpretation of statutory and regulatory directives; developing and conducting FFELP-related training; effectively communicating policy requirements affecting internal and external operations; writing and editing FFELP material for TG publications and web sites; and providing backup to Policy and Regulatory Affairs management staff.

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

 

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, English, Journalism, or a related discipline

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

A minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in student financial assistance required. Demonstrated presentation/training proficiency also required. Incumbent must possess a high degree of analytical and critical-thinking abilities. Ability to: relate divergent, sometimes conflicting, information, with limited supervision; present complex concepts clearly and effectively; coordinate multiple, complex activities that often are inter-departmental; work effectively both independently and in teams. Incumbent must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal, organizational, research and time management skills; and the ability to operate in an advanced technology environment including the Internet, Intranet, telecommunications, word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.

20 to 25% business travel required

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Knowledge of the FFELP structure as well as the regulatory and statutory framework under which it is administered.

 

Must be willing to relocate to Round Rock, Texas.
