Senior Financial Advisor and Mentor

Experienced Financial Advisor needed for joint field work with entry-level Advisors.  Grow your personal practice by mentoring those newer to the business.

 



North Star Resource Group is an independent financial services firm affiliated with Securian Financial Services.  There are approximately 200 team members working in the 16 branch locations of North Star. 

 

We are currently expanding our Miami, FL location.This office is looking for a financial advisor with 3-7 years of experience who is ready to expand his or her personal practice through mentoring relationships. 

 

Financial advisor mentors at North Star are experienced advisors running successful practices of their own.  Their role is to actively participate in joint client appointments with new advisors in training. Mentors are expected to allow new advisors to “borrowâ€� their credibility and experience. It is the responsibility of the mentor to coach their mentee on sales skills, and to provide them with expertise on products and services.

 

Advisors at North Star are sourced and selected by dedicated recruiters.  Much of their development, outside of joint work opportunities, is guided by a formal training program and lead by dedicated development professionals.  Mentors are responsible primarily for helping the new advisors with client interaction.

 

Mentors are compensated for their additional leadership responsibilities with a percentage of the commission on new business generated and closed by their mentee(s). Additionally, we offer competitive compensation programs designed to help an experienced financial advisor transition a personal practice to North Star. 

 

Great candidates for this role will meet the following qualifications:

· Enthusiasm for team-based work.

· Desire to help others’ develop their strengths.

· An existing insurance-based financial services practice in the Miami-Dade area.  Experience with comprehensive fee-based financial planning is a plus.

· Florida Life/Health/Variable Annuity license, Series 66, Series 7.  Series 24 a plus.

· Ability to grow your personal practice through referral-based marketing strategies.

· Proficiency in the Advocacy sales system beneficial.

· Experience recommending financial solutions for physicians helpful.

· Comfortable working in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment.
