Senior Accountant
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced accountant who will be reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager of International Operations. The Senior Accountant’s work involves a high degree of initiative and interaction with individuals from over 30 countries.
Responsibilities:
· Manage majority of monthly close activities for business unit
· Review journal entries, eliminations, account reconciliations, footnotes, government reports, and other analysis of accounting analysts in business unit.
· Provide guidance and direction to business unit analysts on accounting and other matters as they arise
· Manage inter-company balances and transactions reporting and for business unit;
· Prepare cash-flow statement and analysis, various footnotes, and additional information as requested from Corporate Controllers group, for quarterly and annual internal and external reporting
· Assist business unit Senior Manager on various special requests and projects as needed
· Provide guidance to individual countries on various accounting matters
· Provide external auditors with requested explanations/documentation and coordinate with regions to provide the same
· Develop, recommend, and implement improved methods and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
· BS degree in Accounting or Finance
· CPA
· Four to Seven Years Experience
· Strong technical accounting background
· Previous experience at large public accounting firm
