Description

RiskMetrics is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join the Divisional Finance Group. This position is a new opening as a result of growth.  This individual will be heavily involved in monthly financial closings, assist with accrual evaluation/calculations and internal/external financial reporting.  The individual will also be responsible for performing account analysis, including analyzing significant account balance fluctuations as well as evaluating the adequacy of the supporting info. 

 

Responsibilities:

· Work on the monthly accounting closings, prepare journal entries.

· Prepare supporting schedules and monthly reconciliations of major accounts, including but not limited to miscellaneous receivables, prepaid assets, deferred revenue, fixed assets, liabilities, deferred expenses and inter-company receivables/payables.

· Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies to ensure proper reporting.

· Analyze and review key documents and contracts to ensure significant transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

· Prepare monthly financial results and analysis for Sr. Management as well as expense reporting for various department heads.

· Prepare expense reporting by vendor and account nature.

· Gather information needed for accrual analysis/calculations.

· Prepare ad-hoc analysis and coordinate special projects as requested.

· Work on internal/external auditors inquiries/requests.

 

Requirements:

 

· Bachelors in Accounting.

· CPA.

· Minimum of 5 years of continuous experience in general accounting and financial reporting at a publicly traded company with increased responsibilities.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and juggle priorities in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.

· Thorough, highly organized and detail oriented.

· Strong computer skills, including enhanced knowledge of Excel.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Knowledge of EPICOR, FRX is a plus.
