DescriptionSecurity Officer in St. Louis, MO will be responsible for providing security at Scottrade Headquarters facilities. Duties include entry control at the lobby and patrolling and observing the activities of persons in and around Scottrade buildings. Work involves assessing problem situations and exercising tact and judgment in bringing about their resolution.Duties & Responsibilities: Remains at a fixed post to observe activities at lobby entrances. Prevents unauthorized access to restricted areas. Answers routine inquiries and directs visitors to appropriate areas. Completes visitor log entries. Visually patrols buildings, building grounds, and parking lots to observe unusual behavior and to prevent vandalism. Enforces correction of infractions through verbal warning, expels unruly persons, and detains more serious offenders for proper authorities. Escorts personnel from building after hours. Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as needed.Required Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to deal with large amounts of people including Scottrade employees, customers, visitors, and general public. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Knowledge of Missouri State Statutes and St. Louis County Ordinances as pertaining to general law enforcement and security work. Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all Scottrade associates and by having a positive attitude.Required Experience St. Louis County Security Officer License required 7+ years experience in a law enforcement or security role Associate's degree or equivalent education and/or experience required
