Position Description:POSITIONRP81242 Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer - Retirement & ProtectionLOCATIONRichmond, VASUMMARYThe Retirement & Protection (R&P) Chief Risk Officer reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Genworth Financial with a dotted line to the CEO of the R&P segment. This role will provide oversight and direction for the management of all risks across the R&P segment. The CRO will partner with the business leadership team to ensure the strategic vision of the segment is developed with consideration for the risks involved, and proactively manage to the risk reward equation.Genworth Financial prescribes to an enterprise-wide risk management view of risk, and hence, the scope of the risks assessed encompasses any event that could cause deviation from the stated financial goals of the organization.RESPONSIBILITIESThe Chief Risk Officer is responsible for the identification, assessment and management of all risks associated with both new business and existing business. This includes responsibility for ensuring that the organization proactively determines which risks it will accept and retain, and hence actively manage. To accomplish this the Chief Risk Officer is responsible for establishing a framework to express the firm's appetite for risk and understands the parameters, which they are managing as part of the risk/reward equation when growing shareholder value.The Chief Risk Officer is responsible for a risk organization of 50 employees, including direct and dotted line reports.The Chief Risk Officer chairs the R&P Risk committee and is a member of the R&P Early Read Committee (reviewing new deals, new products and new markets). The Chief Risk Officer is also a non-voting member of the Genworth Capital Committee and Early Read and Growth Committee.The CRO ensures all the organizational structure and competencies along with the tools and the processes are designed and deployed to ensure the segment is effectively managing towards its enterprise risk management objective. In addition, it is the responsibility of the CRO to ensure the risk management framework/mindset is pervasive across all of the internal control structures across the segment (e.g., legal, compliance, financial controllership, corporate audit).BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in actuarial sciences, mathematics, or statistics-15+ years in insurance or financial services- FSA designation-Senior level risk management experience in insurance or financial services-Strong knowledge of insurance asset/liability management processes and techniques-Expertise in fixed income instruments-Well versed in all forms of federal and state regulatory compliance issues-Excellent communication skills - Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a diverse team towards strategic goals of the risk management function-Demonstrated ability to build consensus across various constituencies, and achieve results through the effort of othersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-Advanced degree in actuarial sciences mathematics, statistics or business-Strong planning and organizational skills, with an ability to establish a strategic direction and subsequently outline initiatives and develop priorities in support of that vision Additional Information Reference Code:   81242Status:   Full Time, EmployeeJob Category:   Accounting/Finance/Insurance Send this Job to a FriendSee all Company opportunities
