#7621 - Senior Programmer Analyst (TCM)

 

Transamerica Life Insurance Company, an AEGON company, is a leader in the worldwide insurance industry for over 40 years.  AEGON is an international pension, insurance and financial services organization.  Transamerica is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where approximately 3500 individuals are employed. 

 

This position will be located in the Transamerica Capital Markets (TCM) division. TCM is one of the nations leading providers of annuity and life insurance products to banks, wirehouses, broker/dealers, and institutional clients. In Cedar Rapids, TCM primarily manufactures, administers, and services annuity products issued by several AEGON USA operating companies. The preferred location for this position is Chattanooga, TN. 

 

Responsibilities 

·  Responsible for developing technical specifications that translate business requirements into practical programming solutions to satisfy customer objectives. 

·  Analysis includes consideration of costs, business needs, enterprise technology, and system impacts.

·  Respond to system failure and performance events, taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of the problem.

·  Communicates extensively with other technical staff and business partners throughout the organization.

 

Qualifications 

·  Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 

·  A minimum of 4-6 years professional work experience, preferably in the insurance industry

·  Comfortable working in both a mainframe and client/server environment.

·  Working knowledge of DB2, SQL Server, DOS scripting, and JCL is required

·  Working knowledge of mainframe scheduler is preferred

·  C++ or JAVA knowledge a plus

·  Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

·  Superior verbal and written communication skills with a broad audience

·  Familiarity with annuity products and insurance terminology preferred

 

The salary range for this position is $55,000.00-$74,000.00-$92,000.00.
