SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Works with representatives from various departments to ensure timely and accurate recording of activity into the general ledger. Reconciles accounts, maintains subsidiary schedules and prepares complex journal entries. Performs a variety of specialized duties for revenue recognition and collection, as well as expense analysis. Confirms the accuracy of financial information.  Analyzes financial trends, trial balances, and general ledgers.  Presents key financial issues to business managers and senior management. Interacts with departments and management to review and discuss financial and operation information and to highlight business trends visible in the financials.   Develops quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for assigned departments by working closely with both operational management and the finance department. Responsibilities include developing effective means of measuring actual results against forecasts to explain material variances. Compares the actual results to forecast, analyze the variances, reports and/or presents key financial issues to appropriate operations and finance management. Ensures that reporting is timely, accurate and actionable.  Researches, identifies, and modifies appropriate benchmarks and analytical tools for varied lines of business. Recommends accounting systems, procedures, and controls to the finance management.  Prepares detailed reporting and analysis of operational revenue streams and costs for operational departments and senior management.  Identifies the need and acts as a lead for financial analysis projects, to include, identifying project scope and timeline, work assignments, analytical methods, and presentation of results and recommendations.  Circumstances may or may not require leading teams of other analysts or multifunctional teams.  Assists in the identification of and execution of ad hoc analytical projects or similar compatible duties directed at improving profitability and productivity.  Acts as a lead for financial analyst and associate analyst but providing mentorship, guidance and training.  Practices Viejas hospitality guest standards while performing duties and responsibilities.  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration and 5 years of experience in finance or accounting department and/or another analytical function that includes budgeting, forecasting, accounting and variance analysis or the equivalent in education or experience. · Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.· Ability to proactively champion and deal with change.· Experience in an entrepreneurial environment preferred.· Strong Analytical skills.· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Access.
