The Ernst & Young's Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice is a specialty advisory unit that provides integrated market, credit and operational risk management; operations improvement, business integration, and strategic cost management; and regulatory and treasury advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. FSRM includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams work together to coordinate the delivery of risk management, regulatory and business performance services to a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations.

Responsibilities

The FSRM Senior will be involved in all aspects of the delivery of financial risk services to advisory and assurance client accounts covering risk governance frameworks; risk identification, quantification and reporting for credit / counterparty, market, operational, liquidity and other risk types; regulatory and economic capital assessments; compliance with Basel II and III requirements; the ICAAP program; enterprise stress testing models and Treasury operations such as cash / liquidity and asset-liability management..

The Senior will be responsible for engagement delivery; team management and coaching; engagement execution; engagement economics and reporting, as well as developing and maintaining productive relationships with clients.

Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team. Successfully delegate to all levels of staff. Conduct performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to performance feedback/training. Foster teamwork and lead by example.

Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills. Maintain cooperative relationships with other engagement teams. Monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan and alter it when needed.

Generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions. Achieve growth by understanding E&Y and its service lines and actively assessing/presenting ways to apply knowledge and services. Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally.
Requirements:
To deliver these comprehensive risk services, we are looking for individuals with 5-6 years of relevant experience and attributes in a number (*) of the following areas.

* Please note that we are NOT expecting any candidate to meet ALL the \"technical requirements\" listed below. Since we are currently looking for several individuals to join our fast growing practice, we will make sure that each team members' aptitudes and experiences are complementary to those of other members in order to consolidate our Montreal and Canadian service offering that covers the whole spectrum of risk management practices in financial institutions.

Technical requirements



*
Experience working with the Basel II regulatory capital requirements for the wholesale, commercial and retail portfolios

*
Knowledge of new Basel III proposals and understanding of potential impacts on capital and liquidity for financial institutions

*
Experience in asset liability management (ALM) and/or liquidity risk management in Treasury operations

*
Understanding of processes, risks and controls pertaining to trading, portfolio management and Treasury environments (front, middle and back offices)

*
Experience working with simulation-based and parametric methodologies for computing general and specific market risk

*
Hands-on experience and knowledge of the compliance requirements for Market Risk Amendment (MRA), Stressed VaR, Incremental Risk Charge (IRC) and Credit Valuation Adjustments (CVA)

*
Knowledge of counterparty risk management: process, measurement methodologies, regulatory requirements, collateral management, limits and exposures management, ISDA/CSA, etc. (experience with Sungard Adaptiv is a plus)

*
Knowledge of Credit VaR methodologies and vendor applications such as KMV's Portfolio Manager / Risk Frontier, Sungard's Adaptiv / Bancware, etc

*
Experience in Capital management (book capital, regulatory capital, economic capital), capital planning and capital adequacy assessment (ICAAP)

*
Knowledge of Risk adjusted performance measurement (e.g. RAROC, EVA or similar) and capital allocation methodologies

*
Experience in implementing an enterprise-wide stress-testing framework in a financial institution

*
Business analyst experience in capturing existing / new business processes, procedures and requirements as part of the change and development lifecycle of risk solutions

*
Knowledge of the RCSA process, key risk indicators and measurement methodologies for operational risk

*
Knowledge of portfolio management activities for traditional and alternative asset classes and best of class risk management practices for those portfolios


Other requirements


*
Experience working in a financial institution (preferably an IRB bank, an insurance company, an integrated broker or a large asset manager / pension fund) with a well-developed risk management culture and infrastructure or comparable experience working as an advisor (Big 4 experience is a plus) to financial services companies

*
Strong academic background with a Masters degree in Finance or Financial engineering (equivalent education and/or experience may also be considered)

*
Recognized by peers as a top-performing individual and as a leading subject matter expert in one or more field(s)

*
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to broker between Risk, Finance and Treasury functions in complex projects in order to facilitate buy-in across all stakeholders

*
Strong communication, presentation and technical writing skills to describe ideas, concepts and issues that involve interpretation, analysis and assessment of complex conceptual topics

*
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

*
Self starting attitude, an ability to think outside the box and driven by new challenges

*
Ability to travel on short notice to serve Canadian clients outside Quebec (expected travel is less than 20%)

*
Bilingual (English and French)
