Regional Controller Arizona
Candidate will provide timely financial analyses of title and escrow operations and prepares and analyzes the financial statement for the company's Mountain Region. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative and solutions-oriented. The candidate must be a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities and execute plans to achieve company objectives. Candidate must be able to work well with others and be results oriented.
This individual is the primary financial officer of a four state region. As a member of the senior leadership team, this role ensures that the region meets financial and operational objectives by providing strategic and financial direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares monthly financial statement close and comprehensive variance analysis.
Manages, develops and directs staff in the Accounting Department.
Analyzes operational performance versus business plan and forecasted estimates;communicates variances to the management team on a timely basis.
Prepares managerial reports and presents financing and recommendations to Executive Management and CFO.
Develops action plans to identify revenue and profit enhancements opportunities, including efficiencies of automating processes.
Conducts financial evaluations of capital spending proposals to ensure that assumptions are accurate and capital is appropriately deployed to productivity and infrastructure projects.
Works with Corporate Treasurer in overseeing banking and escrow functions and maintains relationships with numerous institutional banking units while ensuring the safety of corporate and client deposits in adherence with all Federal and State regulations.
Requirements:
Candidate needs to have a thorough understanding of corporate finance, including balance sheets, income statement, cash flow, capital budgeting, profit and loss, time value of money, pro forma statements, and mergers and acquisitions. Current knowledge of GAAP pronouncements.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting required
Master's Degree of CPA preferred
A minimum of five years of financial management experience, minimum three years in a supervisory role.
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Working knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act preferred.
Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
Ability to work with all levels of management.
Ability to perform within rigid time demands and restraints.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Frequent travel with the region.
