The Opportunity:

 

We are seeking a Server Side Test Engineer (SSTE) to join our technology organization.  Reporting to the QA Manager, the Server Side Test Engineer will develop, maintain, and execute tests for our proprietary application servers. The candidate can distill disparate business and technical requirements into effective software tests to improve and drive overall quality. In addition, the SSTE will document test cases, expand load and regression testing, build the necessary frameworks to support integration across application server platforms, and help create testing policies.

 

Core Responsibilities:Build test library and write frameworks for testing our environmentDevelop load testsHelp ensure that all new server software submitted has functional tests; PEAK6 is currently using FIT and FitNesseDevelop clear reporting methods for test resultsWrite test cases. Work with customers to maintain test casesMaintain bug/defect database and ensure that our testing infrastructure includes tests for these bugsWork to have automated testing frameworks covering critical components of our architecture within 3-6 months of start date

Desired Candidate Attributes: Must professionally communicate with and gather requirements from users, technology managers and directorsMust be detailed-orientedAbility to manage multiple, simultaneous testing projectsA thorough and demonstrable understanding of testing techniquesHands on problem solving in a Windows environmentTrading environment experience helpful

Technical knowledge and Experience and Educational Requirements: At least 3 years experience in a structured testing environmentExperience with a variety of testing methodologies, having created and managed software testing practicesC# and C++ programming experience requiredPerl, VB, VBScript, and HTML skills a plusExperience with issue tracking, continuous integration, and WIKI technology recommended
