Quality Assurance Engineer

Townsend Analytics is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for our Chicago Office. 

 

Requirements:

 

§  Familiarity with the software development process and how this relates to the goals of the organization

§  Possess a working knowledge of quality principles and best business practice

§  Diplomacy and patience in order to maintain a cooperative relationship with developers, project managers and end users.

§  Some previous software development experience is extremely beneficial

§  Excellent judgment skills are needed to assess high-risk applications

§  Knowledge of software architecture (familiar with DLLs, .NET assemblies, Registry settings, GAC, etc.)

§  Excellent written communication skills

§  Individual needs to be a self-directed problem solver with an analytical mind and an appetite for continual learning; ability to grasp complex architectures quickly

§  Ability to set up and configure a  synchronous test environment

§  Familiarity with automated testing concepts

 

All Team Functions include:

 

§  Devise and advocate best quality practices to enact continuous quality improvement in all Townsend Analytics, Ltd. products and services

§  Collaborate in continuous improvement of analysis, QA and testing process

§  Coordinate, collect, and present quality metrics for TAL Software products and services

§  Collaborates with development teams to ensure that quality standards are in place

§  Devise and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of TAL software and services

§  Involvement  in Business Analysis and certify the testability of the business requirements

 

Minimum education and/or experience required:

 

College degree and/or 3 years of experience within testing and QA and/or 3 years working with electronic trading tools

 

Preferred education and/or experience:

 

College degree with 3-5 years experience in the financial services or data services/IT industry

 

Other required knowledge, skills and abilities:

 

Familiarity with Business Analysis within a real time trading environment
