QA Analyst II - Clearing

This candidate will support CME's Clearing Systems. The primary focus will be to support the development of new functionality in these systems. This starts with the creation of new and revised test cases from the associated development project business requirements. This requires a strong understanding of the underlying business functions and technology employed in these functional areas. After the test cases have been confirmed, the QA Analyst will be expected to develop the associated test data, execute the associated transactions and critically compare the actual output to the expected output. The analyst will interact with Business Users & the Software Development team to confirm and maintain requirements, develop test plans, develop test cases & execute same. The QA Analyst will take ownership of, and responsibility for, executing the test plan within prescribed budget, time & quality guidelines. The QA Analyst will work both independently & as a team member to solve problems & implement solutions. The QA Analyst will follow department processes & implement process improvements when justified. Requirements · 1 to 3 years of in-depth successful software testing experience, with at least 1 year experience in testing Financial business applications that have a significant front-end (as well as back-end) component. · Candidate must have demonstrated working knowledge of functional and automated testing as well as working knowledge of SQL to mine production tables for suitable test data. It is desirable to have working knowledge of Exchange industry terminology & its associated systems. * Candidate must execute Automated and Manual tests * Candidate has developed test plans and test cases based on software requirements * Has documented Software issues discovered using a defect tracking system. * Has analyzed, researched and communicated defects of a complex nature to Software Developers. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written. * Willingness & ability to master complex financial subject matter with a minimum of hand-holding. * Must be able to work in a dynamically changing environment, as part of a team, with minimal direction.
