Job Description
Purpose: Incumbent will participate in the development of new policy forms and related documents, assuring they meet statutory and regulatory requirements of authorities in all jurisdictions in which the company does business to obtain timely approvals.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Develops and drafts insurance products to approved specifications, modifying as required to meet market needs and regulatory requirements. Performs research as required.
2. By utilizing automated filing system, the incumbent assembles all required items, including filing letter, check, transmittal, certifications, policy, forms and actuarial information and specific state requirements. Submits for approval to appropriate regulatory authorities where applicable.
3. Researches, analyzes and resolves objections to filings and resubmits as required, collaborating with Manager, Attorney, outside consultant, Business Unit and/or other departments.
4. Researches regulations and industry bulletins to keep abreast of current laws affecting the Companys product development, policy form filings and related matters.
5. Develops and maintains good relationship with state Insurance Department personnel, as assigned, to ensure prompt and courteous service as Company filings are reviewed. In addition to courtesy, honesty and fair dealing, this entails accurately following detailed filing requirements, which vary from state to state.
6. Provides documentation to PF&C Product Implementation Unit when insurance department issues final disposition of product filing.
7. Provides forms and guidance to Document Specialist and reviews output in order to product automated documents in compliance with product approvals.
8. Participates in training and development of other associates in product filing and development functions.
9. Maintains compliance with all standards, controls, policies and practices as an active participant in the Companys Information Privacy and Security Program.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
2. 4-7 years work experience.
3. Strong analytical and communication skills.
4. Knowledge of insurance products and regulatory requirement.
5. Strong research skills and extensive knowledge of company products and insurance department requirements.
