Product Development Manager- Private Markets Job ID: 250302Position Description: Product Development Manager, Private Markets Dow Jones Financial Information ServicesThe Product Development Manager will be responsible for driving the product development of Dow Jones Financial Information Services’ venture capital and private equity products, including databases, news sites and other related media. The position involves close collaboration with development leads, product architects, and technology partners. Job duties include gathering technical product requirements from prospects and customers, writing requirements documents and managing the overall development life cycle of a product/project. The candidate will need to communicate at many organizational levels, create effective customer relationships, balance daily support needs with long-term strategy, and successfully combine vision and reality into effective product plans. Ideally, we are looking for an individual with a good mix of entrepreneurial and corporate business background. This position reports to the Director of Product Management, Private Markets.Responsibilities:• Manage projects from the concept phase through the development lifecycle to successful launch• Collaborate with product management and other business stakeholders to generate functional requirements while ensuring adherence to the business requirements and guidelines• Work with team to rapidly produce workflows and prototypes in an iterative manner• Understand the way in which products are used by customers and drive design of the product to support user roles, needs and work flow• Production of product help filesPosition Requirements:• Five years of Internet product development or project management experience in online information services or e-commerce environment• Experience defining Internet products and information retrieval technologies• Ability to collaborate with the Product Director, Sales, Marketing and other business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into functional requirements• Ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential• Experience and comfort in a matrix management environment, with a demonstrated ability to influence those outside direct lines of authority• Ability to proactively research, analyze and understand Internet technologies• Expert problem-solving and analytical skills• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are required• Goal oriented, with a high level of initiative and self-motivation• Persistence in resolving customer/product issuesThis position can be based in Harborside or Princeton, NJ Travel to both locations as needed is necessary.To apply for this position please visit www.dowjones.com/careers requisition 110021.
