Application Infrastructure (AI) is one of five work streams chartered to improve the quality of our technology service offerings through the following efforts: Conduct global Application Assessments for critical and franchise applications Governance and oversight for global execution of application improvements for stability and resiliency Design, develop, and maintain frameworks for application infrastructure assessments, capacity planning and management, change management, and vendor management Position Description: The Project Manager - AI workstream will report into the Senior project manager for the workstream and will be responsible for coordinating the global execution of application assessments, facilitating issue resolution, and ensuring consistency and quality standards globally. The Project Manager - AI will liaise and work collaboratively with regional business and technology partners to develop remediation plans and track execution. Strong technology management, application development experience, communication effectiveness, and project management skills required. Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead the execution of global application and infrastructure assessment and remediation of prioritized applications Establish effective relationships with regional business and technology resources to execute assessments Act as the primary point of contact between regional resources and the Global AI Workstream team Lead the analysis of application assessment data, develop finding and recommendations, collect remediation milestones and cost estimates Identify and assess risks and issues; determine mitigation strategies Develop plans, working with regional business and technology resources, for the execution of global application assessments and remediation tracking Communication:Provide timely status to the AI Workstream Lead on progress, plans, risks, and issues Provide regular project updates to regional contacts including status and conference calls; often daily or weekly as needed Provide support to regional resources in the coordination and completion of application assessments Escalate issues in a timely manner that requires managerial or executive involvementThe ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of relevant work experience with the following attributes: Experience:A strong and proven track record with strong experience in Systems Operations / Application Development / Project Management, preferably in large financial services organizations Experience managing expectations on projects in which there are representatives from multiple functional areas Experience managing global, multi-region initiatives and teams Experience communicating with senior-level technologists is a plus Experience coordinating with geographically disperse teams is a plus Proficiency communicating with project stakeholders including management, team members, end-users, and sponsors both verbally and in writingSkills:Experience managing projects including the design, development, testing, and delivery of global technology implementations Proficiency with the terminology and concepts of mainframe, client-server software, networks, databases, Web applications, and operating systems is a plus. A solid understanding of Project Management standards Familiarity with metrics and reporting best practices Familiarity with continuous improvement lifecycle Flexibility required due to the time zone constraints of a Global Program Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills PMP Certification a plus Proficiency with project scheduling and tracking software such as MS Project Personal Characteristics:Detailed oriented and organized Methodical problem solver Highly motivated Execution driven Location: New York, NY/NJ
