Operations Performance Unit Manager - Retirement Services
Symetra Financial is actively recruiting for an Operations Performance Unit Manager to join our Retirement Services team! This position will be a primary resource for aligned staff by: o Creating consistent quality assurance and training programs. o Project work related to the identification and implementation of process improvement and operational efficiency. o Establishing, monitoring, and reporting performance metrics across multiple departments. o Monitoring and adjusting workflows to ensure compliance with established performance standards. o Reviewing and authorizing customer account transactions. o Partnering and maintaining positive relationships with agents, employees, and clients. o Administering salary and performance reviews. o Completing department audits. o Assisting Product Line Manager in establishing unit goals and objectives. o Creation and implementation of procedures and processes across departments. Job Requirements: o Prior success in both management and customer service roles required. o Previous operations experience preferred. o High level attention to detail and accuracy. o Strong technical skills; i.e. reporting, data management. o Proficiency in Access, Excel, and PowerPoint applications. o Ability to pull and analyze performance metrics and report with recommendations for improvement. o Demonstrated leadership skills through prior work experience. o Demonstrated planning, organizational and follow-up skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure within established timeframes. o Ability to affect results through others. o Effective conflict and resolution skills. o Ability to propose, negotiate and sell ideas. o Strong oral, written, and multi-dimensional communication skills. o Strength in the ability to effectively communicate with employees and our customer base on a variety of needs. o Demonstrated ability to make informed and creative decisions. o Ability to independently research answers and retain information.
