We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our firm.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding work environment. The role requires the ability to project manage multiple simultaneous initiatives with minimal supervision.

The selected candidate will be intellectually curious, intuitive, trustworthy, and have the highest ethical standards. Must be able to diagnose and resolve conflicts in short periods of time and under significant pressure. Excellent communication and presentation skills required to effectively address both internal and external audiences in a professional manner.

 

 

Core Responsibilities

·          Provide operational support for clearance and settlement of us equity listed options and stock.

·          Identify measure, and control, operational risks that arise from clearing high volume strategies.

·          Enforce proper audit controls and accurate account balancing to minimize financial risk.

·          Proactively investigate and troubleshoot issues and outstanding items as they arise.

·          Help establish new prime broker and counterparty relationships

·          Instill procedures and processes to effectively resolve trade breaks and ensure timely settlement.

·          Build relationships with and act as liaison between trading desks, prime brokers, counterparties and exchanges.

·          Manage all back office responsibilities related to large option market making strategies.

·          Coordinate all back-office option expiration activities.

 

Qualifications and Skills

·         Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience

·         Expert level knowledge of financial markets and instruments, various trading strategies, and related clearing processes.

·         Experience in developing and presenting recommendations to senior management

·         Experience in dealing with Option Clearing Corporation and option exchanges preferred.

·         Experience with monthly option expiration process, including weekend out trade resolution.

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks under extremely sensitive and timely conditions.

·         Proficient with Word, Excel, and databases.

 

 Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

·         Bachelor's degree with emphasis on accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.
