Advanta was started in 1951 with $30 in seed money. Advanta was born out of the hard work of an entrepreneur. Jack Alter, a Philadelphia school teacher, wanted to help fellow teachers get access to capital. We are looking for someone with this same entrepreneurial spirit that wants to innovate and work on new and exciting projects as part of a dynamic team. Team chemistry is very important. This position is with the Innovation Team which is responsible for finding ways to connect with and inspire our customers, other entrepreneurs and small business owners. In the past nine months, the Team developed ideablob and the KivaB4B Project. Ideablob (www.ideablob.com) is a thriving online community where entrepreneurs go to share “the next big idea” and get advice and feedback on their idea. The KivaB4B Project (www.kivab4b.org) was created to encourage U.S.-based small businesses to support entrepreneurs in the developing world through a matching program.
We’re looking for someone to help market these projects, and others, through traditional, interactive and social media outlets.
The Online Marketing Manager will join our team in a temp-to-perm capacity at our beautiful 180 acre campus in Spring House, Pennsylvania located just outside of Philadelphia. As an Online Marketing Manager you will effectively interact with all levels within Advanta to implement marketing programs. Serve as a key implementation facilitator of programs designed to activate new customers, stimulate inactive and dormant customers, support retention and loyalty programs, build balance and volume, and/or cross-sell products and programs. Develop new or manage vendor or partner relationships. Assist with the design and implementation of marketing programs, including marketing materials, development and production of creatives, test and roll out strategies, forecasting of program revenue and cost, and troubleshooting when necessary. Manage the research, development and implementation of email alerts, newsletter, blog outreach, geotargeting, viral marketing, Internet initiatives and/or trade show exhibitions.Serve as the liaison between cross-functional areas within Advanta such as Legal, Project Management, eCommerce, Information Technology and Operations and marketing/development/PR vendors to effectively implement programs in a collaborative manner. May assist in proper planning, budgeting and reporting of campaigns.Get your hands dirty, as needed; solve problems and think on your feet. Listen, interpret, design solutions, have a point of view and be persuasive.Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.Minimum 2 year project management experience in Marketing, encompassing all stages of the project lifecycle.Experience in advertising through various media and emerging channels is preferred.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills, with experience working with all levels of the organization.Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Self-starter, adaptive, and innovative. Willingness to work hard as needed to accomplish team goals.Must be able to travel and work afterhours to attend events (trade shows, conferences, etc), as needed.
