Job Description Network Engineer Devonshire Investors, a division of Fidelity Investments, is looking for a Network/Firewall Engineer. This position is based in Boston, MA. This is a 6 month contract role with a strong chance of extension. SummaryThe hired individual will have full responsibility of LAN, WAN, and Perimeter Security infrastructures. The employee will provide Firewall, Security and other network solutions to business units based on requirements. The employee will directly interface with the customer to gather and evaluate requirements, develop networking and/or security solutions consistent with Fidelity standard network architecture and Cyber Security Policies, engineer, implement, and support final solutions. Responsibilities Maintain the day-to-day health of the network and firewall infrastructure, with a focus on maintaining and ensuring stability and reliability Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes Provides lead support for configuration and troubleshooting of IP technologies, including but not limited to: IP addressing, Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, RIP), Switching, Load balancing, HTTP/S and Mail Proxy services, Remote Access (IPSEC/SSL VPN). Review firewall logs and rules to ensure that security policies and best practices are enforced Coordinate installation of new circuits and moves of existing circuits Perform network design, implementation, documentation, and support Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues Position requires knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in running an enterprise data center Provide on-call support functions in a 7x24 environment Qualifications Minimum 5+ industry years of experience in an engineering, implementation, and support role in small or midsize enterprise or service provider environment in the following field: Network Security Systems -Installation, configuration and maintenance of Firewall One (FW1), NetScreen, and Cisco firewall products. Working knowledge of management systems for firewalls and other network security products. Working knowledge of spanning tree and layer two switching concepts is required. Working knowledge of routing protocols including BGP4, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP and knowledge of the Internet concepts and routing architecture is required. In-depth understanding of TCP/UDP protocol suite (SMTP, FTP/TFTP, DNS, POP3, HTTP, HTTPS, etc). Experience with Juniper (Netscreen), Cisco PIX, Routers, and Switches (IOS & TACACS), Nokia Checkpoint, F5 BigIP, and related monitoring tools. Must have strong knowledge of Cisco System Administration Must have strong knowledge of digital certificates (installing) Detailed Knowledge of IP packets, Packet sniffing, and IP troubleshooting. Customer relationship management skills are required. Position requires proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio. Applicant must be able to effectively express ideas both orally and in writing with all levels of interaction. Unix (Solaris & Linux) and Windows Based System knowledge is a plus.
