Mutual Fund Staff Accountant

The Mutual Fund Staff Accountant is responsible for Mutual Fund NAV's, price challenges, and total returns.  The Mutual Fund Staff Accountant will process all trades for the mutual funds, including short-sells, foreign trades, option trades, and forward contracts.  In addition, the Mutual Fund Accountant will act as a liaison between the custodians and brokers, facilitating the timely settlement of trades.

Primary ResponsibilitiesInput and balance custodian cash and TA shareholder activity to internal management system.  Compare custodian's mutual fund pricing to market prices in internal management system. Report manual price overrides to trading department.  Generate Change in Price report and roll forward prices on internal management system.  Report each day's NAV to designated recipients at Calamos.  Input  foreign exchange rates into internal management system.  Report mutual fund activity by broker/dealer to Sales department using Access software.  Prepare Cash Availability Sheets. Process all security trades for the mutual funds. Complete rating services surveys and associated Master Questionnaire Reports.  Calculate total returns and issue monthly report.  Reconcile forward contracts, monthly cash, and asset statements from custody banks to mgmt system. Assist in preparation of financial information for quarterly board meetings, dividend distributions, SEC reports, and semi-annual and annual reports.  Assist outside auditors in their annual audit of financial records and supporting documentation. Prepare 12b-1 and Advisory fee reports. 

QualificationsBachelor's degree in a business related discipline One to three years previous accounting/auditing experience Previous experience/exposure to mutual fund accounting/operations preferred Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet applications High attention to detail required Good organizational skills required Good verbal and written communication skills
