The Manager of OpEx Master Black Belt manages the Operational Excellence process and resources for an assigned division. They manage the execution of key strategic and operational improvement initiatives directly and through subordinate Black Belts. The Manager of OpEx:Provides professional assessment of opportunities within the division and counsels the leadership team on the appropriate methods to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. Organizes and leads the deployment of Operational Excellence through assigned resources. Identifies and assigns projects from the Division portfolio to drive benefits in savings/revenue, risk, and % loyal (projects up to $20mm in value). Advises and counsels Division leadership on appropriate methods for achieving strategic and operational goals as a member of the leadership team. Meets with organizational peers to organize efforts and review progress. Instructs and coaches OpEx candidates to develop competencies and capabilities to the Black Belt level of certification within assigned unit. Teaches the full OpEx curricula as an adjunct faculty member of the Capability Team. Coaches and mentors Senior Managers in achieving OpEx Champion certification. Manages the Division portfolio of improvement and reengineering projects to ensure goals are met within schedule through assigned resources. Identifies Division staff for OpEx certification candidacy and supports achievement of certification goals by identifying projects and assigning coaching resources. Reviews progress at tollgates and provides advice and feedback on progress. Participates in final certification reviews across the enterprise to ensure candidates meet qualifications and standards. Manages the use of the Operational Excellence family of methodologies to ensure consistency and the highest degree of professional application. Provides direct guidance on the use of more advanced methods as necessary. Serves as the Division expert on improvement processes. Licenses or Certifications: Six Sigma Master Black Belt or Lean Master is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Administration or related degree is required. Master’s/Advanced Degree in Engineering or Business preferred. Minimum of 7+ years experience applying the concepts and methods of Six Sigma and Lean to drive strategic operational improvement initiatives. Financial Services experience is a plus.
