Medical Billing Specialist/Lead
The purpose of this position is to work with a team of professional Medical Billing Personnel in Accounts Receivables, with the goal of maximizing revenues from medical billings. This is accomplished by, obtaining all available monies from Third Parties by ensuring that billings are accurate and processed in a timely manner and, by providing education and training to clinic staff on current billing criteria and guidelines in an attempt to provide the best customer service to Multnomah County Health Department clients. This position is specifically responsible for troubleshooting issues with vendors, staff and our software contractor. Additionally the position will be representing the Medical Billing Team on several internal and external committees. The position will also assist in several continuous improvement projects affecting the Medical Billing Team. This position will also assist the manager in overseeing day to day operations. As such, it is necessary to have an understanding of the Medical Billing process and the ideal candidate will also have knowledge of FQHC rules. The successful candidate will also have previous supervisory experience, and will be assigned the duty of monitoring the daily activities of each member of the Medical Billing Team.
