Overview
As a Marketing Support Team (MST) Specialist within the Americas Institutional Business, you will assist the MST RFP manager in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Barclays Global Investors (BGI). The position is located at the Company's national headquarters office in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
Proposal Writing
Assist with responding to RFPs and questionnaires, applying investment knowledge and familiarity with BGI's databases (RFPedia, MMOL and IQ specifically) Project management Help coordinate response from beginning through to completion, including research, compilation, editing and proofing, assembly and shipping/mailing. Thoroughly understand BGI's products and strategies to effectively position BGI's capabilities in the proposal response. Understand and develop strategic relationship with prospect/client/ consultant to develop sales/marketing strategy accordingly within the proposal.
Editing and Review
Responsible for completing review/quality control of all materials produced, prior to Manager or strategist review Maintain open communication with Manager to facilitate and prioritize review process (avoiding bottlenecks, last-minute reviews etc.) Responsible for ensuring implementation of Manager and strategist edits Ensure branding/style consistency and content accuracy of materials Ensure compliance with BGI's legal/compliance guidelines
Data Analysis
Work with MST Data Team to compile data requests for RFP's, including fund performance, fund analysis (i.e., top holdings, overweights), firmwide AUM, fund strategy AUM, number of clients gained/lost)
Publication Print Production, Delivery and Distribution
Work with Manager and other MST Group members to meet all publication distribution deadlines (in hard copy, via email or via intranet site) Communicate effectively and proactively manage expectations of content providers and users with respect to publication distribution and deadlines Participate in printing, copying, binding and post-production review of materials, as needed Ensure timely delivery of marketing materials (may require some overtime work) Communicate tracking information and delivery status of materials, as needed Deliver electronic copies of publications to BGI requestors upon request
Relationship Management
Support Manager in building positive, proactive relationships between the MST Group and BGI strategy and product groups (who provide content and data for updates to presentation materials, fund fact sheets and publications) Respond to calls, questions and requests, (primarily regarding client questions from CRAs and CROs) Build positive, proactive relationships within Marketing Services Team (MST) Participate in training of MST new hires and contractors, as needed
Requirements
2-3 years previous experience required, previous experience in institutional asset management highly desired Previous knowledge of various asset classes highly desired; basic knowledge of BGI's product offerings a plus Strong project management skills Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment with time-sensitive deadlines Ability to work both independently and within a team Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent attention to detail Excellent creative problem solving skills Ability to manage resources independently as well as work interdependently with team, managers and client-, prospect-, consultant-facing staff Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong copyediting and technical writing skills required Expert knowledge of BGI's products, groups and processes a plus Expert knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Office required Knowledge of XML and Crystal Report a plus BA in Economics or Finance preferred
