Primary responsibilities include monitoring announcements for timeliness and quality, processing allocations to entitled holders, and reconciliation and resolution of payables and receivables, including fails and stock loans. The individual is also responsible for the compilation and distribution of various management and regulatory reports. Heavy interaction with other groups within Corporate Actions such as Income Processing, Proxy/Class Actions, and Voluntaries.Skills Required:In-depth knowledge of DTCC corporate action and redemption processing routines, systems, and methods. Product knowledge of fixed income and equities. Thorough understanding of stock records and journal entries is essential. Sound reconciliation, research and analytical skills. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to interact with external contacts at depositories and agents, and internal clients up to the officer level. Time Management and Multi-Tasking abilities.Skills Desired:Experience documenting process flows and creating policy and procedure documents. Researching capability and the ability to resolve breaks. For successful performance in this role, individual should demonstrate skill competencies including but not limited to the following areas:Business knowledge: A thorough functional and conceptual understanding of the product and process for which they are responsible. Demonstration of concepts including: • Mergers, Reverse Splits, Name Changes, Dissenters Rights, Called/Matured Bonds • Fails, ACATS, Stock Loan • Reconciliation • Interest calculations • Prerefunding/defeased bond processes. In addition, the individual should understand process drivers and vendor announcement sources. Work to augment technical skills as needed. Client impact: An understanding of how an individual’s processes impact the overall client experience. Demonstration of a thorough understanding of Client Reporting, including statement presentation, tax reporting, and Gain and Loss. Respond to client inquiries (both internal and external) in a timely, accurate and professional manner. Communication Skills: The ability to express ideas clearly, demonstrating the capacity to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ownership and initiative: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Accountability for individual assignments and an element of team results. Ability to create and implement ideas that lead to positive change. Seek involvement on projects/responsibilities outside immediate scope of responsibilities. Critical thinking and active learning: The ability for individuals to perform root- cause analysis to understand a problem in addition to seeing it through to a resolution. Taking additional steps to prevent a reoccurrence of such a problem. The ability to apply knowledge and skills learned in one particular area to other aspects of the department. Question historical processes and procedures and be solution-oriented. Take ownership of one’s career and expand knowledge and skills both on the job and in the classroom. Efficiency and teamwork: The ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner, utilizing available tools to expedite the process. Assist others, both in and across teams to help achieve tasks and goals. Contribute analytical capability and/or knowledge and experience to problem resolution and idea generation. .
