JOB SUMMARY

Plans, directs and monitors division activities to ensure achievement of established operational and financial objectives.  Directs the development of business plans, strategies, objectives, policies and procedures for division.  Promotes positive client experiences and positive business relationships. Responsible for the professional development of field operations management.

 

 

JOB DUTIESPlans, directs, monitors and evaluates the activities of division associates.  Responsible for the professional development of field operations management. Models Block Behaviors in all interactions internally and externally. Utilize project management techniques to ensure the achievement of Company targets for unit growth, products, services, net profits, etc.  Ensures adherence to current Company policies and procedures within division.  Participates in development of retail tax strategic initiatives, develops annual business plan for division outlining financial and operational objectives consistent with the corporation’s strategic plan.Designs and implements operational and business initiatives pertaining to expansion, penetration, office locations, staffing, training, and achieving budgeted results in both net earnings and number of tax returns for division.  Monitors actual operational and financial results against budgeted targets.  Identifies areas of concern and implements corrective action to ensure achievement of business plan objectives.  Collaborates with the Regional Directors (RD) to identify and establish the number, location, and status (temporary, regular, or Premium) of offices within each region. Works to ensure successful integration of all Block branded and non-branded locations both Company and Franchise within the Division. Develops and implements initiatives to promote and enhance the client experience in each tax office within the division.  Ensures that client trust is maintained; client expectations are achieved; and client needs are addressed in a positive manner.  As necessary, acts as an intermediary between the field and World Headquarters to ensure the best interest of the client is achieved. Ensures success of divisional support staff matrix management. Takes proactive approach to identify operating and financial improvement initiatives.  Utilizes effective project management techniques to prioritize projects and develop a project plan for each initiative.  Monitors to ensure each approved project progresses per schedule and within prescribed budget.Monitors the performance of each region within division.  Reviews and approves each region budget and operating plan.  Coordinates and provides assistance to RD to ensure adherence to established objectives.Prepares and submits reports and comprehensive business plan for division and its results to the SVP periodically on the division performance.   Other duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         A minimum of ten years of progressive business experience to include strategic planning, budgeting, and project management.

·         Experience in a retail work environment.

·         Demonstrated knowledge of field management.

·         Knowledge of project management principles, practices and techniques.

·         Strong client relationship skills.

·         Knowledge of organizational planning techniques to include developing goals and objectives, staffing, and work standards.

·         Strong facilitation skills.

·         Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Ability to establish priorities, organize work, and satisfy deadlines.

·         Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects and work initiatives at the same time.

·         Ability to assess problems and/or unusual situations and develop logical solutions.

·         Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.  Strong presentation skills necessary to communicate and persuade a wide range of audiences particularly senior management.

·         Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group.
