Review and authorize declaration of funds' dividends and capital gains, including dividends on common and preferred shares of leveraged funds. Work with Tax Dept. to ensure distributions compliance with RIC regulatory requirements. Review monthly expense budgeting and accrual analysis for approximately 200 mutual funds Oversee fund invoice payment and associated fund complex allocation. Provide guidance and training to Supervisors on complex issues. Responsible for departmental human resources management (hiring/firing, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions) within the department. Develop and implement training plans. Apply knowledge of accounting processes to advise and improve the overall department's function and efficiency. Develop and implement new policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP, SOX and 38a-1. Provide solutions to complex accounting operational issues. Review annual and semiannual shareholders reports for reasonableness and approve disclosures prepared by the Expense group. Review prospectus and SAI filings as they pertain to expense disclosures. Maintain and update the departmental procedures manual for policy and system changes. Other duties as assigned. Required: Excellent mathematical skills and the ability to work in a time sensitive environment. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of mutual fund industry. Pricing, accounting, reconciliations, corporate actions, etc. Good organizational skills Education & Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience 4 - 5 years experience in Fund Admin, Fund Accounting or equivalent in a supervisory/management roll.
