Senior Software Engineer – Financial Systems / Payments
As the lead developer behind our transaction processing and loan servicing platform, you have an opportunity to create systems that will transform the lending process for thousands of small business owners around the country. The role involves implementing solutions to enable new types of loan products, improved reporting and system management,integration with outside parties such as banks and other transaction processors, and enhanced interfacing with our other core systems. We are looking for developers with a solid CS grounding to work on multi-tiered systems utilizing Java, J2EE, Oracle, EJB's, struts, internal tools and various open source solutions like Hibernate and Spring.
The focus of this role is to: Design and develop support for new loan products in our servicing platform Develop management and reporting tools for internal administration of our loan portfolio Develop web services and batch interfaces to external banks and processing partners as well as internal systems Assist in the design and development of a data warehousing infrastructure Create tools and test infrastructure to improve the accuracy and reliability of our transaction processing environment
QUALIFICATIONS At least 5 years of experience in Java, preferably on highly transactional systems Solid object oriented design skills Strong proficiency with J2EE technologies, EJB's, struts, Hibernate, Spring and MVC frameworks Knowledge of Applications Servers (JBoss a plus) Experience creating and executing SQL queries along with a solid understanding of relational database design and database interaction approaches Solid coding practices including good design documentation and solid unit testing Experience working on robust, multi-tiered, accurate and scalable architectures Excellent written and verbal communications skills Specific experience developing and testing platforms that involve financial products Experience in agile development methodologies a plus Experience with loan securitization environments a plus Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math or similar field; graduate degree a plus.
