Lead Associate - (Processing and Control) Description Description:Job Summary and Mission:As a Lead Associate - (Processing and Control) in the Client Tax Reporting department you will maintain compliance with respect to the timeliness and accuracy of Tax withheld from non-qualified brokerage accounts.Key Responsibilities:- Reconcile Backup Withholding vs. IRS Forms 945, 1042, 1099 and accounts payable/receivable for current and prior tax periods- Liase with Internal Revenue Service representatives to maintain withholding accounts and to remediate penalties.- Process the daily remittance of tax to the IRS; maintain thorough recordkeeping and audit documentation- Daily review and processing of Taxable Exchanges for 1099 Reporting- Respond to Financial Advisor inquiries and perform adjustments to reportable transactions- Perform quality assurance testing including the periodic review of: - Forms 1099 and client tax statements - global adjustments in January for 1099 Reporting (OID, Income Reallocation, REMIC, etc.) - exception reports for accurate 1099 Reporting - Draft business requirement documentation for enhancements to systems and reports- Write communications to field and clients including tax reporting guides, online help and information screensQualifications:- At least 4 year degree or relevant work experience.- Advanced software experience (e.g. MS Excel and Access, macro and database processing). - Self motivated and well organized- Strong communication, interpersonal and analytic skills - Accounting/bookkeeping and quality assurance testing experience is helpful.- Proficent PC skills and expert MS Software and database. building/processing/maintenance skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Access)- Knowledge of IRS regulations in regard to client tax reporting is helpful- Familiarity with project management concepts is helpfulSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceWe can offer you an exciting, fast-paced working environment, a culture of mutual respect and commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and the opportunity to play a vital role in our growth.Job Location: Weehawken (Home Office), NJJob Number: RUSAUBS213-609676Company URL: http://www.ubs.com/Company Profile:UBS is a leading global financial services firm.
