Core Responsibilities of the Internal Auditor:Ensure that the firm is compliant with SEC rules and regulationsIndependently conduct audit field work – including on-site observations, personal interviews with management and staff personnel, analytical procedures, and detailed analysis and testing of data Act as in-charge auditor on as needed basis; supervise and review the work of others Communicate with auditee and audit management during fieldwork to keep them abreast of any unusual findings or events Analyze data to reach logical conclusions, to identify and suggest solutions for problems in accounting and corporate administrative controls and to identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency Assume responsibility for the audit report and supporting work papers Assist with annual risk assessment, SOX 404 planning and audit planning processes Present audit report findings and recommendations to relevant levels of management Assist in IT Annual Risk Assessment and IT General Controls testing

Technical Knowledge and Experience and Educational Requirements:Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline Minimum of five years of progressive audit experience in public accounting or a broker-dealer IT auditing experience preferred Professional certification preferred
