Internal Audit Manager

 

Our client is a well-established service company in Columbus, OH.  Due to growth, they have a need to add an Internal Audit Manager to their audit team. The position will entail, but is not limited to the following responsibilities and requires the qualifications noted below:

ResponsibilitiesAssist or lead in the performance of internal audit assignments including SOX compliance. Conduct audits to determine the accuracy of transactions and compliance with operational policies. Conduct financial audits on specific departments and groups. Prepare work papers in accordance with audit standards; document findings with appropriate narratives, flowcharts or spreadsheets. Maintain comprehensive audit workpapers (electronic and/or in hardcopy form) to substantiate audit observations. Make decisions of the relative importance of audit findings and draw immediate supervisor's attention to significant audit findings. Effectively work with and communicate with other audit staff and process owners during audits including executive management. Research and review current laws and regulations relative to the scope of the audit being performed. Assist with or perform special projects as assigned.  Monitor own tasks and progress on workload against deadlines. Participate in the preparation of the draft audit report outlining strengths and weaknesses of operation and recommendations for improvement. In addition, obtain agreement of improvement actions with affiliate management.

 

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related Business degree. 5+ years of public accounting or internal audit experience. Experience with SOX and CPA/CIA preferred. Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office products. Ability to travel at least 15%. Superior written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to comprehend and interpret regulations, laws, polices, procedures, and guidelines.
