INFORMATICA/BUSINESS OBJECTS/DEVELOPMENT

This is a 6 month contract to hire position in Morrisville, NC. Main Duties/Responsibilities of the Role• Providing 2nd level application support for a global shared service based upon Business Objects 6.5 and XI 3.0 enterprise suite of products. This includes Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence and Desktop Intelligence content types among others. Support a customer base of 70 plus reporting projects for over 6,000 end-users. • Provide senior level expertise in all areas of Business Intelligence (Business ObjectsCrystal) to junior level support team • Support customer reporting applications built with the standard Web Intelligence portal as well as customer portals built with the any of the Enterprise SDK’s (.NET and J2EE). • Maintain, support, deploy and monitor a federated global shared infrastructure regionally deployed on over 20 servers on the following platforms: o V6.5 on Solaris 8 with WebLogic o V6/5 on Windows 2003 Server with IIS o BOXI 3.0 on Windows 2003 Server with WeblogicIIS• Lead infrastructure projects, such as platform upgrades, environment patching, and hardware replacements. • Deliver process documentation for centralized repository administration, general usergroup security administration, and change management for the reporting project teams. • Supplement product teams expertise by providing senior leadership to support team in areas of enterprise product settings, tunings and recommended configurations • Work hand-in-hand with product team providing iterative feedback on set of best-practice standards and support procedures to be used by application and support teams • Cleary communicate support priorities and escalation pointsprocedures to junior level staff • Work with product team to define specifications for value added tools which can improve or automate support processes o Provide infrastructure consultancy using best practice deployment architecture for new SDK applications • Provide 24 x 5 on site support and on-call support during weekends. • Coordinate internal Business Objects support operations to: o distribute and assign internal support calls o execute change management tickets on-time and correctly o follow-up on escalated issues o support the internal 24x7 help desk o improve support efficiency • Maintain procedures and perform tests for Business Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery. • Document infrastructure deployments, support policies and procedures Skills and Experience Required Skills: • Business Objects/WebIntelligence 6.x • Business Objects XI • Unix Solaris • Windows 2003 Server/IIS administration • WebLogic (or another J2EE application server) • Web Infrastructure (ASZ, DMZ, Firewalls, WebServer and Application Servers)Desired Skills: • Siteminder Integration • Crystal Reports • Xcelsius • .NET and/or J2EE developmentPersonal Skills: • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Team oriented • LeadershipWork Experience/Background: • Min of 8 years IT experience • 5 Years Business Objects Experience • 2 Years Client SupportEducation/Certification and Professional Qualifications: • BS / BA Required in Computer Science, Engineering, MISPlease send resume to Jennifer.Wollin@modisit.com   Job Reference Code: JW-BO Company: Modis, Inc.
