PurposeAs a Group Safety Leader, you will participate in all aspects of regional operations by providing Safety Management services to Target Corporation stores and distribution centers in his/her area. These services include Safety Management consultation, education and training, incident analysis. You will also participate in total company projects and continuous improvement initiatives. The annual cost of losses to Target Corporation is in excess of $300 million; a number that the Group Safety Leader is expected to impact and reduce through incident elimination.See Yourself: Safety Management Participating in the design and development of company-wide behavioral based safety processes and educational programs to reduce team member and guest incidents Utilizing a Red Store strategy to identify stores with high financial impact or incident frequency, and working with these stores to eliminate losses Providing direction, training, and tools to the Safety Managers in the Distribution Center pyramid to work toward achieving a reduction in ORI rates each year Coordinating with headquarters-based Safety Integration Process Leaders to address total company safety concerns or issues and to recommend appropriate resolution Participating in Risk Management continuous improvement projects to find global solutions to further enhance our safety processes Routinely partnering with Regional/Group/District/DC Leaders to ensure their support and commitment to all safety processes Education and Training Providing training to Stores and Distribution Centers on Company safety processes, OSHA compliance and fire protection practices Partnering with the Claims Management Specialist (CMS) to educate Regional, Group, District, Store and DC executives on post incident claim management to minimize expenses Providing specialized training programs, e.g., New Store Safe Start training, Remodel Training, Business College, New Team Leader training and other safety process training, which are applicable to Store and DC personnel Participating in Region/Group/District/DC meetings to present safety updates, provide training and/or introduce new initiatives in coordination with the Claims Management Specialist when appropriate Visiting stores with HQ, Region, and District teams to review individual store safety practices/issues. Identifying specific training needs and assists stores with execution of safety processes Incident Analysis Analyzing RMIS reports to help identify and track incident trends for Stores and Distribution Centers Partnering with the Claims Management Specialist to assure stores practice prompt reporting of incidents, utilizing the correct forms and tools required by company policy and individual state statutes during store/DC visits Ensuring Store and Distribution Center compliance with OSHA regulations and other state and local regulatory compliance requirements Utilizing incident analysis facts to provide suggestions to Red stores and distribution centers on how to eliminate losses and create a “safety culture” within their facilities Job RequirementsMinimum Requirements: Four year college degree and/or relevant Target work experience 5+ years of Target experience OR seven years of safety work experience, preferably in a multi-location environment. Demonstrated leadership initiative in previous experience Candidates must show a proven track record of involvement in safety processes in their work environment.
