Financial Analysis Manager-Merchandising Planning

As a result of this growth at Quill, we have experienced exceptional internal career growth and are looking to expand our team of dedicated and talented professionals as we drive growth and add Brands to the Quill Portfolio.At Quill, we strive to be a truly great company, one that people are proud to work for, offering an inclusive environment where each member of our diverse and talented team can develop and make a difference. We are currently searching for a Financial Analysis Manager-Merchandising Planning for our Headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL. Quill’s newly created Analysis Manager position is a unique FP&A role, supporting the strategic planning process within merchandising. The Analysis Manager is a business partner for the Quill VP of Merchandising, and is expected to recommend solutions/changes that will drive growth in revenue and profit within defined product categories. Additionally, this person leads process improvement in recording, analyzing and collecting funding from vendor partners. Reporting to this manager are 2 financial analysts dedicated to merchandising support and 2 vendor receivables specialists. Responsibilities include:1. FP&A – Works with merchandising management to lead the budgeting and forecasting of product level sales and margin. Develops the total company margin rate forecast – identifying cushions and risks to develop contingency plans. 2. Analysis – Directs and participates in regular and ad-hoc analysis to support the sales and profitability growth of our product categories. 3. Directs the vendor receivable function to ensure that all funds are properly recorded and collected on a timely basis. Analyzes the performance of vendor receivables to identify opportunities and manage risks for the business. This involves frequent interaction with contacts at Staples, Quill’s parent company. 4. Day-to-day leadership of 4 direct reports. Develop a strong team of future leaders. Member of the finance and analysis leadership team – providing direction to improve the organization’s planning and analysis capabilities. Qualifications:1. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; MBA or similar graduate degree preferred. 2. CPA preferred. 3. Minimum 6 years work experience in financial analysis role (can include full-time master's degree coursework); must have strong accounting background through coursework or full-time work experience. 4. Demonstrated leadership abilities 5. Ability to communicate effectively with support staff, direct reports, peers and executives. 6. Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 7.
