WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? 

 

Hartford Technology Services Company (HTSC) is a provider of professional Information Technology Services to business units of The Hartford, as well as to external clients. Project and Program Managers deliver superior project outcomes by utilizing proven leadership capability, objective consulting skills, and demonstrated project management practices and disciplines. The Project and Program Managers’ role consists of the following duties and skill sets: budget planning, creating project plans and work breakdown structures, organizing and facilitating meetings, delivering projects on time and on budget using formal project management methodologies, building and developing successful teams, and the ability to anticipate and manage risks. We offer a wide variety of opportunities that span across diverse business units and technologies. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in delivering technology and business solutions.

 

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

 

We are looking for experienced Project and Program Managers who have strong leadership competencies with a wide variety of project management and technology experiences. Individuals must have a proven track record of delivering technology and business applications and solutions. We are looking for project leaders who understand the science as well as the art of project management. Candidates must have demonstrated prior leadership qualities, have a good understanding of technology and possess business acumen. Experience in formal project management methods and practices are required. Superior client relationship skills are also required. Experience in a consulting environment is considered a plus.

Required Skills:5+ years hands-on Project Management skills 5+ years experience delivering projects on time and on budget using formal project management methodologies 5+ years creating project plans and work breakdown structures 5+ years experience with business and/or technology projects that impacts an enterprise wide or multiple IT applications/divisions/lines of business 3+ years experience communicating and expectation management skills with project teams and senior leaders 3+ years experience building and developing successful teams, and the ability to anticipate and manage risks 2+ years organizing and facilitating meetings 2+ years experience in a highly matrix organization 1+ year of proactive communication 1+ year proficiency with MS Project and Visio

Skills/Experience in the following is a plus:Budget planning Client relationship management Strong team leadership and mentoring Consulting background Offshore project experience Technical infrastructure Vendor management Flexibility and creative problem solving PMP certification
