Director of Fraud Prevention Strategies

Global Financial Services firm seeks Director of Fraud Prevention Strategies in NYC To lead and develop a dynamic team across the fraud function.  The role holder will be expected to lead and analyze data and establish a proactive fraud prevention strategies.Reduce avoidable losses on Business while balancing risk, reward and the customer experience. The role holder with place innovation at the forefront of their thinking, optimising the use of in house fraud prevention systems.To undertake complex fraud investigations on all attempts to defraud Business. This could include 1st Party and 3rd Party fraud involving organized crime groups.

Accountabilities:Responsible for the development & management of the Fraud Team - their recruitment, training and development, motivation, leadership, and resolution of any HR issues. Influence and provide direction for colleagues within a number of areas within the wider business. Continually develop, refine and drive Transaction Acquiring & Commercial Cards fraud management strategy and its constituent initiatives. Definition and delivery of supporting policy, implementation plans and business cases underpinning the Strategy and its deployment. Communication of fraud strategy and any implications across the wider business,.Development, implementation and ongoing management of specific fraud policies. Development, implementation and ongoing management of portfolio fraud performance monitoring and reporting. The delivery of a performance dashboard will be a significant deliverable.Responsible for ensuring fraud policies are maintained

Requirements:Strong risk Vs reward focus - the jobholder will need a detailed understanding of the key value drivers and financial dynamics of credit/charge cards and Acquiring.Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills. Strong influencing and communication skills - be able to communicate complex data and financial results to a wide audience, including formal presentation of risk performance to board level.Strong knowledge of analytical processes including portfolio segmentation and dynamic fraud analysisDetailed knowledge of portfolio risk management techniques, including risk/reward principles, application of scoring models, provisioning methodologies and risk governance processes.Strong understanding of credit/charge card P+L management.Proven track record in portfolio fraud managementExperience of financial management in cards & acquiringSignificant experience of team management / functional leadership
