Director of Financial Markets
Core Expectations and Responsibilities:Work StrategicallyCommunicates and exemplifies Audit mission/vision.Develops hypotheses around risks and controls.Identifies changes in risk and level of risk on an ongoing basis and redeploys resources accordingly.Identifies what needs to be changed across assigned business group or function. May impact more than one business group within the enterprise.Delivers results to change the business group's or function's control environment.Develops the integrated audit plan in conjunction with our external auditors in assigned business groups or function.Coordinates Audit activities to ensure that the assigned function or business groups are properly addressed, including identification of areas that are candidates for holistic audit efforts, cross-functional reviews, and integrated operations. Identifies and applies technology and other tools to improve the audit process and results.Identifies processes and/or areas for improvement and develop plan for implementing the enhancements.Evaluate Risks and ControlsCommunicates with senior management and supports Audit VPs working with outside boards and Audit Committees to reach consensus on most significant risks. Uses risk analysis techniques to determine areas of focus, develop appropriate audit programs, and recalibrates audit work accordingly.Communicate IssuesIdentifies issues that may have enterprise-wide implications.Proposes solutions to complex business unit problems.Reviews audit reports and propose for approval.Designs communication plans.Follows-up on identified issues and recommended corrective actions to ensure problem resolution.Supports Audit VP in the preparation of reports and presentation materials for senior/ executive management, BOT and Corporate and other Audit Committees.Devise Solutions and Drive Positive ChangeSupports audit recommendations with empirical evidence.Has excellent problem-solving skills and makes well-informed recommendations to solve complex business group issues.Manage RelationshipsEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels of management and staff in client organizations.Develops and maintains relationships with external auditors and works with them to plan audits, allocate resources, respond to clients, and avoid duplication of efforts.Who we're looking forThe ideal candidate: BS/BA and MBA preferred; finance, economics or related field of study Professional audit certifications preferred (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA, etc.). Registration/licensing preferred (i.e., Series 7, 63, etc.) Minimum of 8 years prior audit or related experience, preferably in the financial services industry. Relevant prior leadership/management experience. Relevant experience in recruiting and developing audit professionals Substantial Audit knowledge and knowledge of diversified financial services, and/or technical specialty (such as regulatory, brokerage, technology, etc.). Must know how to leverage technology and operations and have a strong financial markets orientation.About our clientFidelity's Financial Markets Group operates as a cross-functional team that supports audits led by other teams as well as engages in additional non-audit projects as necessary, utilizing market expertise to focus on market, financial, and operational risks. Key areas of focus include security risk ranking, credit risk determinations, portfolio valuation, pricing validation, and financial market event monitoring.
