Director and Associate Counsel Position

 

Basic Function:

Provide legal support including contracts, business transactions, banking, consumer and commercial credit, and privacy.



 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

·  Assist in the negotiation and drafting of contracts, including vendor and client contracts.

·  Provide legal counsel to business clients regarding transactional and contract matters.

·  Perform legal research and provide advice regarding privacy, banking, and consumer and commercial credit issues.

·  Various other legal projects as needed.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point).  Strong analytical skills.  Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.  Excellent presentation skills.  Ability to prioritize and meet numerous deadlines.  Ability to analyze complex issues and advise internal business partners appropriately.  Aptitude for detail and high degree of organization. This position requires significant understanding privacy laws, which if not possessed by the candidate will need to be quickly developed.

 

Qualifications:

·  Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of general corporate/transactional or banking law experience with either a law firm or corporate legal department, including experience with drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for complex business transactions.

·  In addition, specific experience in privacy matters is preferred.

·  J.D. degree from accredited law school.

·  Already admitted to practice
