Director, Access Center

Currently there is a position for a Director, Access Center in the Finance Department of the Geisinger Health System in Danville, PA.

Position Overview:

The Director, Access Center is responsible for the system facilitation of consumer access to medical services, health information and education. Through the development, implementation, and evaluation of a broad-reaching call center, the Director assures that service expectations are met that fulfill the needs of members, prospective members, patients, consumers, physicians, and other medical professionals, employers and decision makers, and other organizational customers, including payers, of the Geisinger Health System.  The Director will provide leadership and direction to the Access Center management staff and front line staff to assure consistent and appropriate medical triage, physician and service referral, appointment scheduling, accurate registration, and access to all services throughout the Geisinger Health System.

Technical Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated competency in information technology and telecommunications.  Applicants must have strong presentation skills and be willing to keep current with new computer software/technology.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Marketing or other related field required.
Masters Degree is Preferred.

Minimum of five years experience at a management level within a health care environment required. Work and/or management experience in a call center or similar health care related setting is preferred. Must have a working knowledge of managed care philosophies, policies, delivery services and contracts
